Please ignore my awful theme while I fix it :( it broke and I haven't had the time to make it better yet.

Hi, I'm Brian.
I'm generally charming, so that makes up for failing at life.
I try my best to follow Jesus.

This blog is mainly photographs I find interesting, along with spatters of paintings, bits of design, and dashes of typography.
and sometimes it's just me messing around, talking about my life, currently as a college student and a volunteer at a zoo.

“Amercia‬” is one reason why the Romney campaign needs a new copy editor. Here’s another.

that parallel structure will get you every time
and so will your family members apparently

That is not the Amercia of my dreams.

I don’t know, some Thanksgivings I just want to go all Dangerous Game on my kin.

Amercia - Land of the Free and Home of the Heavily Armed Granny Agnes.

Also it looks like there’s a kinky three-way going on in that stylized “R.”

Dying.

That is not the Amercia of my dreams.

Is it rude that I’m totally hoping to find someone at the republican convention while browsing grindr?

Bonus points if they vote against gay rights

I’m very distressed over Santorum dropping out.

At first glance, it seems like really good news but, unless Ron Paul and Gingrich can sway all his supporters, it means Romney will win the nomination easy, and there won’t be much chance of a brokered convention. Which, Romney is better than Santorum of course, but with Santorum out, he’s now my least favourite candidate as well.

one of the platform issues that was brought up today was, of course, where our party stands on the definition of marriage.

the amount of hate and disgust in one room was appalling, and the looks and comments I got when I voted for changing the current definition (twice) were enough to make me want to just walk out.

but what surprised me even more was the fair number of people who were for changing it to say that it’s not the government’s place to define it.

It wasn’t a majority, but it was a good amount, and when you’re expecting to be one of very few…it was nice to see.

Caucuses are weird. Ron Paul came in second place in my precinct though! By one vote! And I’m a delegate for him! Wooooooo

"Why should the government give permission to two individuals for them to call themselves married? In a free society, something that we do not truly enjoy, all voluntary and consensual agreements would be recognized. If disputes arose, the courts could be involved as in any other civil dispute. But look at where we are today, constantly fighting over the definition and legality of marriage. Under our system, the federal government was granted no authority over this issue. Many Americans would even amend the Constitution to deal with the argument by defining marriage. This attempt only exacerbates the emotionally charged debate on both sides. I’d like to settle the debate by turning it into a First Amendment issue: the right of free speech. Everyone can have his or her own definition of what marriage means, and if an agreement or contract is reached by the participants, it will qualify as a civil contract if desired."

“According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bill would cost us $47 million tax dollars a year — that’s for a fix that won’t work, disrupts the internet, stifles innovation, shuts out diverse voices, and censors the internet. This bill is bad for creativity and does not protect your rights.”
